Teagan had a big day today.
We took her to get her ears pierced.
The other girls at daycare have their ears pierced (since they were babies), so she asked if she could too. I'm not big on the baby ear piercing thing, since I feel like it should be her decision, not mine. Not like pierced ears is a big deal, really, but that's just always been my philosophy. Anyway, she said she really wanted to and stuck with it all day. I could tell she was nervous when we got there, but she was such a trooper, she didn't even shed a tear or move a single centimeter when they punched those earrings through. It made me want to cry, though, for my big, beautiful daughter who seems so grownup with those little fake pink gemstone studs. It's supposed to be alexandrite, which is one of June's birthstones (the more traditional being pearl). Of course, she'll have to wait till she's 18 for a tattoo and most other piercings. She gets to be fully responsible for all that business.
